Hey kiddo!

First, I’ll start with the bad news…

That livestream that I asked you about…I’m not going to be able to do it before the release. Life (or Undeath, rather) is super hectic right now, and I just don’t have time to pull it off. Doing a proper livestream, plus preparing for an album release AND preparing for a show….It’s just too much right now. And that doesn’t include some very real non-VSD things, like starting a brand new career just yesterday, and caring for my newly sans-tonsil wife as she heals up.

I really hate to let you down. Maybe I can do a little POST release livestream and we can do that Q&A everyone seems so psyched about.

OK, enough of the sad stuff…

WE ARE ONE WEEK AWAY FROM NIGHT:SHIFT!

In case you missed it, I put out Promo Video #3 on Monday, and you can check it out right here: https://twitter.com/VampireStepDad/status/924987424224235520 This one is my personal favorite.

There will be one more video released this coming Monday, and then, Thursday, at 7pm EST (Are you detecting a theme?) NIGHT:SHIFT will be available for download, and all preorders will be in the mail!

The following week of the 13th, I will be doing a Twitter Live tweeting listening party. We’ll all sit down together and hit play at the same time, and I’ll tell you stories about each song, answer any questions, and generally just be goofy. It’ll be some good clean fun!

Hey kiddo!

Last time I mailed you I told you about my idea to do a little livestream concert and show you a new song off of NIGHT:SHIFT. First and foremost, THANK YOU for the tremendous response. I got WAY more than I thought I would, so I really appreciate you taking the time to help me figure this out.

The results? 80% voted for YouTube, so it’s pretty hard to argue with that! And all but 4 people were interested in a Q&A, so, sorry four people, it’s happening.

When? Well, I’m trying to figure that out. The rest of this month is literally insane for me, but I’m hoping I can do it next week. Probably later in the week, in the evening (EST). Late enough so the East Coasters are off of work, but not so late that our European family has to stay up till daybreak. (Ugh, daybreak, amiright?!)

The first NIGHT:SHIFT promo is out, and if you’ve not see it on YouTube or Facebook, you can check it out Twitter. As always, it would be hugely helpful if you could share those with your friends. Keep your eyes out, cause there’s more of those coming in the weeks leading up to the release!

Also, I got the cassettes this week, and they look AMAZING.

Michael Mauldin really blew this out of the water. I couldn’t be happier with it.

Lastly, the Echosynthetic Fest on November 11th is shaping up to be HUGE. We’ve got artists from all over the world, people are flying in from across the country to see the show, there will be a film crew documenting the whole thing. It’s gonna be so awesome. I really hope you can make it out. The local Atlanta Radio station, 99x, is even going to be featuring some of my music to promote the show. Vampire Step-Dad is gonna be a terrestrial radio! How cool is that?

Thanks again for helping me live some of my wildest dreams. I couldn’t do this without you, and I am deeply appreciative of all your support.

Hey kiddo!

I want to play you a song. I’m thinking the best way to do that would be a little live streamed mini-concert. I’d play you a new song off of NIGHT:SHIFT, and maybe we could do a little Q&A afterward if there’s enough interest.

So the big question in MY head is, where do I do it? I have my own ideas about the pros and cons about streaming video sites, but none of that really matters. What matters is where YOU want to watch it. So, I put together a 2 question survey that I’d love for you to fill out. This way I can make sure the most people are able to see the video.

Key kiddo!

The time is here! No more talking cryptically about “working on the next EP” or “waiting on this or that.” Nope, nope, nope. Today, I can tell you definitively, that the new EP is called “NIGHT:SHIFT” and it will be available on November 9th, at 7pm EST. (Get it? Thursday at 7? All the best jokes are completely literal!)

This EP will have ELEVEN tracks! What’s that you say? Eleven tracks isn’t an EP? That’s an album? Well, perhaps, but not all eleven tracks are full songs. No, this EP is more more along the lines of a film or TV score, where some cues are just 30 seconds or so. But, despite this, this is my longest release yet. So that’s cool, huh?

I spoke in the past about being kind of unsure about this one, but I can tell you confidently that this is gonna be a good one. I’m really excited about it. I’ve got much to tell you in the meantime, but I’ll save that for later.
